Some Halloween plans call for a costume and a group of friends. Others call for an early evening out with the family. From pumpkin patches to trunk-or-treat stops, Laredo has several ways to celebrate before October 31.
Here are eight Halloween events from our local collection, grouped to help you find your kind of outing. Most happen before Halloween night, so check the dates before making plans. All times below are Laredo local time.
Pumpkins, haunted houses and park celebrations

Sparky's Spooky Pumpkin Patch
The Laredo Fire Department is bringing more than pumpkins to Uni-Trade Stadium. The announced activities include a haunted house with friendly actors, a vehicle extrication demonstration and a zombie shootout. Families can meet firefighters, see department equipment and come in costume.
Food and drinks are listed as available while supplies last.

Halloween at the Rec
A haunted house, trick-or-treating and a Halloween movie give this District 7 celebration a few different ways to spend the evening. The sixth annual Halloween at the Rec also lists food and family activities. If your group wants more than a quick candy stop, this is one to look at.

Hallowest Spooktacular
Bring the costumes outside for an afternoon that stretches into the evening. Hallowest is a community celebration with Halloween activities and entertainment at Siete Banderas Park. The park is listed at 1508 Monterrey Avenue.
Admission details have not been confirmed. Check with the organizer before making plans.

Halloween at Cheyenne
This midweek celebration lists candy, games, prizes, food and a Halloween contest. It offers a two-hour window for families who want a seasonal outing before the final weekend of October.
Confirm the start time with the organizer before making plans, as published times differ. Admission has not been confirmed.
Candy stops and costumes

El Metro Trunk or Treat Fest
The fifth annual El Metro celebration lists candy, games, vendors and music, with costumes encouraged. Free parking and El Metro bags are also advertised. The transit center is at 1301 Farragut Street.
The celebration takes place on the fifth floor of the transit center. Check the organizer's flyer for the latest details.

Trunk or Treat at Saunders Plaza
This stop includes candy for families and treat bags for pets. The collected flyer also advertises a costume chance to win a grooming service, so there is something here for households planning an outing with their pets.
The flyer says supplies last only while available; no fixed finish time or admission price has been confirmed.

Halloween at Planet Dental Calton
Planet Dental Calton's Halloween event lists costumes, treats, activities and giveaways. It is a short, early-evening option the day before Halloween.
The organizer asks guests to reserve a spot. Follow the registration link on the event page and check availability before heading over.
One more celebration before Halloween

District 1 Spooktacular Celebration
District 1's celebration brings Halloween activities and costumes to El Eden Recreation Center at 4735 Loma Vista Drive. The listing describes a family-oriented community evening, giving families another October 30 option.
A finish time and admission price are not confirmed in the source listing.
Before you head out
Check the organizer's latest post or announcement before leaving, especially for registration, weather changes and supplies. A free event can still have food or other purchases, and a haunted-house description does not establish how scary every part will be for your group.
This guide covers the Halloween events in our collected listings, not every celebration in Laredo. Have an event we should know about? Send us the details. A submission does not guarantee a listing.
